purple

Fun fact about me: my favourite colour is and always has been purple. Right now I am on a HUGE lavender and lilac kick.  Thought I'd share quickly this little collage I made for that same homework assignment as the pastel blazer board.
It's just such an under rated but fantastic spring and summer colour.

Something you should know...

I figure while it's still early and this blog is new I should probably make the world aware of the fact that I have a massive girl crush on Taylor Swift...like MASSIVE.  She will probably begin to make common appearances on this site.  I just can't help myself...
Before I start writing post upon post about her Im going to make a short list about the 100 things I love about her... kidding ill pick 10!

1) She ALWAYS knows what I'm going through... its weird.  I think it's pretty safe to say that she has helped millions of girls through more than 1 heartbreak!

2) She is so weird.  Total goofball and doesn't care what anyone thinks about it.  She has battled bullying her whole life and still insists on be her true self.  That's confidence

3) She actually loves her little brother (we have this in common...sometimes)
4) She's a genuine feeler... and honest.  She tells the world how she feels...and doesn't hesitate to sing about it using real names.

5) How great is her hair? Never a bad do. Up. Down. Curly. Straight. Bangs. No Bangs.  I have never seen it not looking fantastic.

6) She is SO tall... she has a major love for high heels but rarely wears them because she already stands tall at 5'11"!!!

7) She has impeccable girly girl style... I always like and sometimes love what she's wearing.  I wouldn't be mad about seeing her closet!

8) She loves cats...Meredith

9) Her lucky and favourite number is 13... that's pretty badass

10) Ellen thinks she's great... She thinks Ellen is great... I think Ellen is great...

I could seriously go on and on. BUT there will be plenty more to come on her.
To be fair I gave everyone a heads up.

Polyvore Has Been Discovered!

I have a new addiction...I'm still trying to decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing!? My friend Nat introduced me to the website Polyvore.com the other day and I think it's pretty safe to say that it was love at first sight.  For those of you who I have not already blabbed about Polyvore to, here's what it is: it's an incredible website that offers a social shopping space where users can discover their styles and set trends all over the world!  You can create outfits and shop for them instantly.  It allows users to utilize their creativity and empowers them to express their own personal style.
See, when I was younger I used to cut every single clothing article and accessory out of every magazine I ever owned...who am I kidding, I still do that.  I take these clippings and create a variety of paper outfits and collages.  My mother seriously thought I had some sort of reverse attention disorder. I would spend hours upon hours clipping, plotting and glueing little dream outfits that I would love to own.
A big thank you to Polyvore.com for providing me a way to continue this obsessive disorder without having to get scissor blisters and wasting my money on glue.  I strongly suggest, to anyone who wants another excuse to waste more time online, to check this site out.  Below is the first sheer inspired outfit I created. Super simple but very feminine.  OH AND, if anyone wants to binge on a great pair of shoes...these Louboutins are only $895.00 ;)

Welcome to Polyvore!

Peachy Pastel Purchase

For a homework assignment this week we were required to create 3 different trend/inspiration boards.  Lately I've been very hung up on pastels.  One of the boards I made was all about pastel blazers.
Above is the page I created.

There is something so flirty about pastels...but something so powerful about blazers.  I know when I wear them, I feel like people should look at me and think "that girl is for sure important!"  (They're right...I am) Anyways, I decided I needed to get me one of these power pastels for this summer.  As a broke student my options are clearly limited for such fast fashion trends as these...Forever21 it is.  AND I found one! I love it.  I have already pre planned a handful of outfits to wear it with.
Above is the newest member of my closet family :). Only $29.80 for this single breasted, long sleeve blazer with notched lapels.  Its going to look so great matched with more pastels.  The days I wear this number I will be one powerful peach!!

Time for Something New

Hello blogging world.

Last Wednesday I began a career preparation course at the Blanche Macdonald Centre, where I am currently enrolled in my graduating semester of the Fashion Merchandising program.  It was the first time in a long time i felt truly inspired to set goals for myself; both personally and professionally.  I took a small questionnaire (www.41q.com/#) to see what my determined personality type would be, and what type of careers I might want to pursue.  Ever since I was a little girl I've dreamt about being in the fashion industry...i hated science...I knew i would need to go where ever my interests in art, fashion and being creative took me.  The accuracy of the results from this survey was mind blowing...it showed me what I already knew about myself; because of that i felt confident enough to know that I'm heading in the right direction.

I have decided to create this blog to share quotes, pictures and articles that i like as well as my own thoughts, opinions and creations on anything fashion related.  Not just about clothing, but also about home decor, art, pets, food, drinks, social media and various aspects of the entertainment industry.  Writing is always something I've dreamt about doing, but until now I've never felt confident enough to share my words with the world. SO...here we go blogging world...today is the day I have decided to stop saying "tomorrow"!!!
