Happy Birthday to ME!! Vol.23.1

Just kidding it's in one week.  BUT technically my birthday lasts way longer than just one simple day.  I LOVE it.
It used to start Nov.1 and end somewhere in the week after the 23rd however Miss Emma Cowell comes in to steal my thunder on the 6th of Nov. So i give her that day and Theo feels the need to have the 10th as his day. soooo yes, I guess one could say Im a selfless person for allowing them to celebrate their days....

Birthdays are a funny thing...
1) I mean is the day itself even really that important (YES).  We all spend the whole year leading up to our birthdays claiming to be the age we haven't turned yet. Unless you're my mom and her friends...they probably dial their age back by a year or 2.  But if you ask me I've been 23 since Jan.1st (but then again I have to give Cutch that day because its actually her birthday) So i guess I've been 23 since Jan.2.
Basically so far we've learned that I love myself and my birthday AND that i'm obviously the one who gives people their birthdays?

2) There are way more "milestone" birthdays then there should be.  People are always trying to make their bdays a bigger deal than they actually are..........
1st Birthday HUGE deal... my beautiful niece just rocked her 1st princess party!
Obviously 13,16, 18, 19, 21, 30, 40, 50 and the decade marks that come after that if you still even want to share your age by that point.  But justifying your lame bdays unless you're a self absorbed person like myself is just crazy.
2nd? okay we get it.. you made it past the first one babies.
5th? parents way of mourning the fact their baby is now a "kid".
10? double digits so I guess you can justify this one.
12? ohhhh it's the last year before you're a teenager...??
Then there is my fave years. 17-22 when every single birthday is a big deal because your friend group is all reaching different places... buying porn and lottery tickets... drinking in some countries.... younger friends are catching up to the bar age...no longer a teenager... drinking in alll countries... double digits...early twenties
25 is only almost acceptable because it's half of 50 and entering the grown up life...
see how easy it is to justify

ANYWAYS

3) Speaking of milestones... 23 is a milestone for me ;) because it is my champagne birthday.  half of the people I tell this too don't even know what that means?  It's clearly the very important one where you turn the age of the date you were born. duhhhh.. apologies to my many friends born on the 1sts, 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, 6ths, 9ths, 10ths, and all the brutal dates before you're old enough to pop bottles.

yeah I think this year I will document the birthday festivities as best as possible.  Looking back through my pics I have noticeably gone down hill in the fun department on this day.

soooo cool doing shots at only 18. badass?

having a piƱata is NOT for children...19 No.1

every one needs a limo for at least one birthday. 19 No.2

20 No.1 trying to make the home town as fun as possible.

20 No.2 ttc downtown

21 No.1 fully appropriate to be jumping on beds in the village...

a sort of quiet evening... until amateur night... 21 No.2

here it is folks... the sober 22 spent at a fashion show (that part was cool)

There you have it... 23 will officially have to pick up the slack from 22.  Direct quote from my ginger friend this morning who wasn't even talking birthdays, but rather about the mere justification of YOLO.......
